God Never Changes

Times Change - God Doesn't
"As I was with Moses, so I will be with you." Joshua 1:5 NKJV

Can you imagine trying to fill the shoes Moses wore? God had used him to turn the Nile River into blood, part the Red Sea, destroy the Egyptian army, receive His law on Mount Sinai, and feed over 2,000,000 Israelites each day in the wilderness. How would you like to follow somebody with that kind of a resume? But once God told Joshua, "No man shall be able to stand before you... as I was with Moses, so I will be with you," he had the confidence he needed to pick up where Moses left off.

If you've read the stories of those God used to accomplish great things and wondered if He still works like that today, wonder no more! Times change - God doesn't. The same God who worked through Moses and Paul, Deborah and Esther, will work through you too! He can give you victory in the face of defeat, or turn last year's disaster into this year's celebration. The heroes of the Bible all had one thing in common - they were just ordinary folks who took risks in obedience to faith, then trusted an extraordinary God to give them results! And He did!

Paul writes, "We walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Co 5:7). The enemy doesn't mind your words of faith as long as they're not followed by acts of faith. When God says something to you, it's always for a good reason; He won't command you to do, what He won't empower you to do. So, what's God talking to you about?
