Come Away
By David Potts

Come my love, let me see your eyes
For though you feel dark, you are lovely to me
Lift your head and look in
The eyes that burn with desire for you

Come away my love, let's run past your fears and weaknesses
Past the memories of pain and shame
Let’s run together and never turn back
To the things that keep you in chains

I love you, my darling, apple of my eye
Let me pour over you with the love that consumes
Let’s leap over dividing walls, preset traps and pits
Let’s go to the mountain together
Where my mercy and love lives

Give me your sin and sorrow
Hesitance just will not do
Look in the eyes that burn with desire
Because they just want to be with you

So come, oh come north wind
And blow yet stronger south wind
Come with me to the hill tops
To the hills of frankincense and myrrh
I have died so that you will live
If only you would carry my cross.
