Christian Poetry
Poems by Stan Arney

Stan Arney writes: I have been writing since I was 4 years old, and I have been writing poetry for several decades now. I have written many Christian-based poems, and I would love to share them with anyone who wishes to read them. After all, we don't write it, so only we read it. I write poems that I pray will make people wonder, ponder, question, they may not agree with me, but they may see a different point of view, and if it gets them to think about it, then that's what I wrote it for. I wish to share, with as many people as possible, what Jesus has to offer, and what God wants people to understand. If it leads someone to read His Word (the Bible), and get the meaning meant specifically for them, then God has used my gift, to reach them."

What About Jesus
By Stan Arney

When we read the Bible, what do we learn about Jesus
That He was sent for the salvation of all of us
He taught us by His actions and by His parables too
Now the sharing of His news is up to both me and you

Jesus helped people, asking for their faith and nothing more
This is the key to open life's most important door
For by faith we believe Christ died and rose after three days
Faith is the very reason that each one of us prays

Jesus told them up front, He was here for the sinner
To teach us how to become an eternity winner
He told us of what would happen, if we chose unwisely
How we would be condemned, to Hell, for all eternity

But Jesus wants all of us to rejoice in Heaven
That God can and will forgive us for all of our sin
One day we will stand before Him, yes meet Him face-to-face
On Judgment day, at the proper time in the chosen place

We are to love God with all our heart, mind, body, and soul
Follow His statutes and commandments, for He is in control
Read your Bible and learn everything you truly need to know
Don't just take my word for it, let His words tell you so.

Praise of a Woman
By Stan Arney

A virtuous woman’s worth, is greater than anything known to Man
Her husband trusts her, as much as any person can
She will do him good, not evil, all the days of her life
She seeks wool and flax, and works willingly as his wife

Like the merchants' ships of old, she brings her food from afar.
Hauling it by her pack animal, more commonly called a car
She rises early and prepares a meal for her household
She considers a purchase, buys it, without being asked or told

Hard toil strengthens her resolve, as her light seldom goes out at night
She stretches out her hands, to the poor and needy, she’s truly upright
She is not afraid of snow, for her household is clothed in scarlet
She makes her clothing of silk and purple, a royal prerequisite

Her husband is well known, as he sits among the elders of the land
She makes fine linen, sells it, and delivers it to the merchant, firsthand
Strength and honor are her clothing, and she shall rejoice in time to come
She speaks with wisdom, and the law of kindness is her tongue’s rule of thumb

She looks well after her household, and eats not the bread of idleness
Her children and husband call her blessed, showing her of true worthiness
Her husband says, many women have done virtuously, but you excel them all
Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain, but your ways I cherish above all

A woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised and respected too
May the fruits, of her good works, bring her praise, at heaven’s gate, too
A virtuous woman’s worth, is greater than anything known to Man
Her husband trusts her, as was God’s original plan.
