Christian Poetry
Poems by Rebecca Mukangu

Rebecca writes: Writing is my favorite thing to do because it gives me a chance to express myself without being judged. I like writing Christian poems because I'm a Christian and because there's no greater love than the one of Jesus Christ.

Who Am I Without Him
By Rebecca Mukangu

You breathe
New life begins
You speak
And my world makes sense
That's how it is
When it comes to You

Your mercy has no end
You're more than just a friend
It amazes me
You feel the way you do

I believe in you
And nothing less
I believe in you
Can't help myself
You're all the hope
The reason that I need

I believe in you
Just because
I don't need no one
To prove your love
For all that I have seen
It's easier for me
To believe in you

You are so beautiful
You are the miracle
That dries the tears
Heals a wounded heart
And it's so clear to see
Your hand in everything
You are there for me
There to see me through

Through the fire
And through the rain
I know Your love for me
Will never ever change

I believe in you
And nothing less
I believe in you
Can't help myself
You're all the hope
The reason that I need

Doubt
By Rebecca Mukangu

Life seemed grim
Interest lost in everything I did
State of uncertainty
Painful, Oh very much

I prayed, wishing it could just go away
Questioning my prayer ability
I fall to my knees
Close my eyes and pray to thee

As tears of pain fall down my face
If you are who you say to be
Please take care of me
Please make this pain go away

Wanting to talk to somebody
but don't quite know how
Can't carry the burden on my own
Oh please Lord help me

Feeling like I'm just not good enough
All I hear is negativity
Little by little, my heart is breaking into little pieces
Oh please Lord help me

Give me the strength to go on
Give me a heart that forgives
A heart that loves, just like you love me.

What To Do
By Rebecca Mukangu

What do you do when all the loved ones have given up on you?

Oh it hurt so bad as tears of sadness flow down my cheek,

I look up and all I want is somebody to hold me,

Somebody to tell me it'll be okay,

Somebody to tell me they understand

I have friends, but none that see the pain in me,

The chains are gone, but am I free?

When will my freedom come?

I might be weak, but I’ll not be easily broken,

The one who lives in me is much, much stronger
