Christian Poetry
Poems by Thomas Bowman

Thomas writes: "I am a man greatly blessed by God. He has taken me from depression and desperation to now being able to worship Him and serve Him at Hillsong Church Cape Town. I am by God's grace a poet, actor and Toastmaster. I love God."

His Name
By Thomas Bowman

When the cloying dust
Of loneliness threatens to
Suffocate you,
Turn your ear towards the
Sweet sound of His name.

His name is Father.
His name is Jesus.
His name is Saviour.
His name is Love.

When trouble seems to be
The only piece left
In the jigsaw puzzle that is your life,
Turn your eyes towards the soft
Sweet light that is His name.

His name is Father.
His name is Jesus.
His name is Saviour.
His name is Love

When jagged rocks of self doubt,
Anger and past regrets begins
A terrifying avalanche of destruction,
Turn your hand upwards – outstretched – to His name.

His name is Father.
His name is Jesus.
His name is Saviour.
His name is Love

Using your ears, eyes and hands,
Give all of you to God,
And He will give you strength, will fashion you
In clothes of love and enrobe your future
With a cloak of gold.

Believe in Him

Amen
