Christian Poetry
Poems by Cinda M. Carter

Cinda writes:  "I started writing poems in 1986 after rededicating my life to the Lord in 1983.  I had been on a downward spiral for quite awhile.  God showed mercy on me and lifted me up out of the pit.  There has been many challenges in my life but not without the Lord's help.  He has been faithful to me no matter what circumstance I found myself in.  Not in the sense of backsliding but Jesus has been there when Satan would test me in my faith in the Lord.  God has taken root in my life after 30 yrs. of walking with Him.  Through the up's and down's God has never failed me once.  He is Lord of my life.  Because of His testimony in my life I would love to share the gift Jesus has given to me through poetry in sharing the gospel of Christ or simply to be an encouragement in your walk with Him.  All praise, glory and honor be given to our Lord and Savior."

With a Song in our Hearts
By Cinda M. Carter

With a song in our hearts,
Onward we will march.
Rejoicing in our hearts,
Of the victory in Christ.

With Jesus at the helm.
The church will avail.
With a song in our hearts,
Onward we will march.

With our armor in place,
We are ready to face.
The enemy to displace,
Way under our feet.

With the helmet of salvation,
The breast plate of righteousness.
To gird up our loins with truth,
Shod our feet for preparation.

With the gospel of peace,
The shield of faith in place.
With the sword of the Spirit in hand,
On the word of God we stand.

With the praises of God in our mouth,
And a two edged sword in our hand.
With a song in our hearts,
Onward we will march.

Ephesians 6: 11-17

Reaping the Harvest
By Cinda M. Carter

The harvest truly is plentiful...
Many seek to fill their empty souls.
Empty inside,
Is there someone to answer their cry?

A cry for help...
To be delivered from sin and self.
Is there more to life,
Than meets the eye?

What is the answer, does anyone know?
Dear Jesus, lead the way and show.
Show us the way we should go,
No longer to be tossed about to and fro.

We as the church...
Lord, give us a heart to search.
Searching to redeem the time,
Salted with the seasoning of Jesus Christ.

Let our light so shine...
In a world that Satan blinds.
The Sewer plants the seeds of life,
They are watered by our Lord Jesus Christ.

Go tell it on the mountain...
That their is a fountain.
Where we will thirst no more,
Clear waters that gently flow.

From the living waters of the Holy Spirit...
We will thirst no more because of Jesus who was pierced.
Pierced in His side, for all mankind.
Jesus who freely laid down His life.

He saw what it would be like with a life without Him...
Doomed to a life to die in our sins.
When mankind sinned he lost his first state and fell,
We were doomed for an eternal life in hell.

Dear Lord, let us remain faithful to Your calling...
By planting seeds of Your Word in hearts who are wondering.
Wondering if there is anything more to this life at best.
While we plant His seeds, Jesus will be Reaping the Harvest.

A New Day
By Cinda M. Carter

Dear Lord,
As I take time to pray...
I just want to say,
I love you more each new day.

You are my everything...
I just want to sing,
Of Your goodness and love.
What You have given from above.

You sent Your Son, Christ...
Satan didn't give up without a fight.
Jesus hung on the cross and took our place.
He did it out of unconditional love for our sake.

With Jesus on the right hand of Heaven's Throne...
God made it possible so, we could belong.
When we repent, acknowledge Christ and ask for forgiveness,
Then we are adopted into the family of God under His grace.

Thank you Lord for Your mercy on us...
We were lost and You found away to give trust.
Jesus is the Savior of our souls,
He is the foundation to our Salvation.

With a new day at hand...
It is on God’s word I stand.
Bring us back to the absolutes in life,
What is right in God's sight.

Help us to remember it is because of You...
That we can be grateful too.
With each new day to approach our goal,
To be more like our Father who we adore.

The challenge...
That God gives us a balance,
In our lives while we pray.
By giving God the glory for "A New Day"

A Living Sacrifice...To be Crucified with Christ
By Cinda M. Carter

We were once dead in our trespasses and sin...
Nothing to gain, nothing to win.
When we come to the Lord in prayer,
By asking Jesus in faith, He will be there.

He cleansed us by the blood of the Lamb...
God gave us a second plan.
To forgive us when we ask of Him too.
For this reason God sent His only begotten Son for me and you.

In our walk of faith with Jesus...
As babe’s in Christ we take new steps as He feeds us.
It's a continual commitment to our Lord and Savior.
Through trial and error by faith, we develop a new behavior.

We learn of His love and how He freed us...
Through the blood of Jesus.
At the cross through the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are accepted into His fold, as we begin a new life.

We witness to each other...
To our sisters and our brothers.
That our bodies are presented as a living sacrifice,
We become conformed to His image, Jesus Christ.

Dying to the flesh is what keeps us alive unto Christ...
While we journey in this life.
We become born again believers,
The Lord becomes our best friend, while He draws us even nearer.

I live but yet not I, it is the Christ who lives within...
To all Glory, Honor and Praise belongs to Him,
I present my body as a living sacrifice,
To be crucified with Christ.

'I beseech you therefore, brethern, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.' Romans 12:1

'Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.'  Romans 6:6

Peace...Knowing We Are Forgiven
By Cinda M. Carter

We find no peace in this world...
Or in our worldly goods.
They are but like the grass,
Worldly goods do not last.

Yes, they may give you a feel good emotion...
But is only a token,
Of a broken life,
A false crutch for the moment in place of the Christ.

How does one find true peace?...
Jesus stands through the storms of life never to cease.
He is our foundation of our salvation.
It is simple you see, first confess your sin to Him.

Cleansed by the blood of the Lamb...
It was all in God's plan,
The perfect sacrifice,
The One who paid the ultimate price.

Jesus the Son of God was not afraid...
But prayed,
For God's will to be done.
For Jesus was the perfect sacrifice, the only Begotten Son.

Where does the peace of God come from?...
From Jesus Christ, God's Son.
Knowing He took our place,
And did it for our sake.

This is a reassurance that we find peace in knowing...
That Christ forgave you and me by showing,
How much He wants us to be His own.
Never again to be alone.

It is a peace that the world does not have for us...
Let's put our faith and trust,
In Jesus Christ and live life.
To the fullest in Christ.

Jesus leaves with us His peace...
The enemy of the flesh, world and Satan He did defeat.
The day Christ was resurrected from the cross.
With faith in our Jesus, never more to be lost.

Peace in knowing we are forgiven...
Of all our sins makes life worth living.
The unconditional love of Christ, He has given.
Brings us peace, in knowing we are forgiven.

Phillippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
