Christian Poetry
Poems by Revathi Selwyn

Revathi writes: "I came to know Jesus in a meeting.  He is the only one God who died for me, no one else did.  There is salvation for all men in Him.  I am thankful for God's gift of grace to me.  Jesus Christ is my Lord and my Saviour."

Jesus
By Revathi Selwyn

Walking amidst  Seven Golden Lamp stands
One like the Son of Man
Girded with a Golden Band
Head and hair White as Wool
Eyes a Flame of Fire
Face that of the Sun
in all its Strength
in all its Strength

Jesus the Almighty one
Jesus the Almighty one
the First and the Last
Root & offspring of David
The beginning and the End

Jesus slain and now Risen
Jesus who is
Jesus who was
Jesus who is to come
Jesus...His Blood
redeeming people
from every nation and tribe

Jesus the Almighty one
Jesus the Almighty one
the First and the Last
Root and offspring of David
The beginning and the End

Promises of Love
By Revathi Selwyn

When I walked alone
Through sands of time
I was never really alone
I was never alone
Jesus, You were always there
you were always there
By me,
Surrounding me with
Warmth from above
Whispering promises of love

Promises and sweet whispers
Of love,
That you would never leave me
nor forsake me
Even to the ends of the world
You are always there
Jesus, always there,
Always there, Jesus, for me

When I wandered through wilderness
and days, months and years just flew by
I was weary and thirsty,
Yet,you kept me as the apple of your eye
You quenched me with your spirit
And You held me close
And whispered into my soul
Promises of love
Promises and whispers of love

Promises and sweet whispers
Promises and sweet whispers
Of love,
That you would never leave me, nor forsake me
You would never leave me nor forsake me
Sweet promises to hold
Even to the ends of the world
You are always there
Are always there
Always there, Jesus, for me

A Gift from Galilee
By Revathi Selwyn

There are many ways  that
seem so good
yet only one true narrow way
many names
yet only one Name
by which man be saved
the one Name
above all names
the Name of Jesus,
the Son of God,
Gift upon the cross
salvation for every nation
from a land
a faraway land
called Galilee

I was told
in a far away land
Galilee...
hung upon  the cross
A man called Jesus
in His blood
there is forgiveness for me,
Bruised and beaten
Jesus, buried in a cave
Son of God
death could not hold Him
rose from the grave
and because of what He did at Calvary
because of Him I have victory....

I believe He bled,
He died for me,
I believe in His cleansing power
and I know that He bled
and He died for me
how His blood holds such power
over  two thousand years
is a mystery...
and every hour
of my life, I know
in Him is my victory

His blood shed for you and me,
His blood...still has victory
just as the wind blows
and no one knows
whence it comes
and whither it goes
I just do not  know the mystery
I  know I am born again
Something new within me
new and free

And now I just cant be...me
His love, joy, peace
Overwhelm me...
I have to tell
of the cleansing power
In the Name
of a man called Jesus
from this far away land
a land called Galilee
Nailed upon Calvary
Gods mystery
Gift of salvation
for every nation
From a  faraway land
A land called Galilee.
