Christian Poetry
Poems by Greg Wilschefski

Greg writes: "I have only been writing Christian poems for 6 months. Jesus meant for the bible to be understood by all. God has made the steps easy and the rewards GREAT, but man has complicated the process with his thinking. I believe God has given me the desire to write poetry in an easy to read style. My hope is to inspire a love for God, through reading my poems."

Unbelievable Love
By Greg Wilschefski

Would you let your son
Take the rap for everyone,
Every undeserving sinner
Who then turn out the winner?

Would you let your son
Who was teaching everyone,
Be beaten by the guard
I'm sure it would be too hard?

Would you let your son
Die when he was so young,
Die when he loved us all?
Would you just watch him fall?

Would you let your son
To a cross be nailed on,
So that man could be saved
Through the son that you gave?

The Light
By Greg Wilschefski

In Genesis darkness covered the earth,
God said,"Let there be light."
Instantly the darkness fled,
God showed the world His might.

When the light of God is shone,
Darkness must flee the scene.
The same still applies to-day,
There is no in-between.

Walk into a dark room,
Try to look about,
The darkness is everywhere,
Turn the light on, the dark moves out.

Jesus said,"I am The Light,
Let me keep your life bright."
Shine God's light in your neighbourhood,
The darkness will leave in fright.

My Saviour
By Greg Wilschefski

When Jesus died on the cross,
He did it for you and me,
Over two thousand years ago,
For the whole world to see.

He asks for us to follow him,
Now that he is risen again,
Eternal life is yours to have,
Assured in Christ Jesus to gain.

Jesus answers your prayers,
When in need you do ask,
Always there just for you,
To him it is no task.

So, if you are felling lonely,
And badly need a friend,
Pray out loud to Jesus,
The Holy Spirit he will send.

Jesus said he would send the comforter,
To be there by our side,
Holy Spirit we just thank you,
In you we can confide.

Acts in Action
By Greg Wilschefski

I have read the bible, the truth, and the facts,
One of the best books, is the book of Acts.
The Holy Spirit came, the disciples received power,
They saw God do many miracles, hour by hour.

No mountain was too large, sickness had to flee,
Lepers were instantly cleansed, the blind did see.
Jesus sent The Holy Spirit to be ever by their side,
The word of God they preached, and the church was multiplied.

The book of Acts hasn't finished yet, it continues to this day,
To see God's power released, we need to read, act and pray,
By laying hands on the sick, we will see them recover,
God's anointing is made available for every Sister and Brother.

Charity From The Heart
By Greg Wilschefski

Giving your tithes and offerings,
Is between God and you,
Don't just do it because the pastor says,
Let the Holy Spirit be your cue.

God loves a cheerful giver,
Charity from the heart.
He asks that only ten percent,
Is an amount where we should start.

You can't out give God,
Or so I have been told,
Giving of your first fruits,
Opens doors to God's blessings, untold.

God's Promises
By Greg Wilschefski

When we give our heart to Jesus,
Towards us He moves with speed,
Promising not to leave us,
In our hour of need.

Giving us promises for our life,
His word is never hollow,
Prosperity, good health and abundant life,
All we need to do, is follow.

By faithfully doing our part,
In praying and reading the word,
His promises, are for us to receive,
When we stand on the word of the Lord.

Two Roads
By Greg Wilschefski

Two roads there are to follow,
The narrow and the wide,
Which one will you follow?
Which one will you decide?

Attractive, seems the wide path,
With glitz and glamour galore,
Sadly, many are taking it,
Clamouring,over each other for more.

Some people don't have a mind of their own,
Keeping up with the "Jones" they go,
Where there's lot of laughter and excitment,
The narrow road seems dull and slow.

Every single person,
Will eventually have to decide,
Will I take the narrow road?
Or will I take the wide?

Jesus urges us to take the narrow road,
Leading us to eternal paradise,
'cause the wide road leads to certain death,
No need to toss a dice.

So let Jesus take you by the hand,
And the narrow gate you will enter,
Keeping your eyes firmly fixed on him,
You'll avoid taking the road of the tormentor.
