He Didn't Die
By Mike Bullock

He didn't die
So we would be content to be in chains
He didn't die
So we would be content to be in pain
His death was meant to signify
The start of something new
A chance to turn and face the world
And change our point of view.

Be assured that everything
He did, was not a waste
And all that we experience
Will only be a taste
The treasures that He has for us
The blessings and the like
Are ready for collection
On the never ending hike.

Whom Am I?
By Mike Bullock

Who am I, I hear you ask
Peering from my vacuum flask
Snug and safe from all intrusion
No ingression, no confusion
Allow you near to know my name
Light specifics is my game
Try to rummage, I invert
Raise my shield to stop the hurt.

Fear and envy clothe my soul
But the past has taken toll
I’m a jelly easily shaken
Worth and confidence forsaken
Come on in, but stay away
I’m not brave enough today
All this talk of God is fine
But He’s not a friend of mine.

Why? If He created me
Did He forget to oversee
The blooming of this butterfly
Free to live and touch the sky
Someone who is not afraid
To be an equal, debts all paid
Open, friendly, loving, kind
Patient, tender, clear of mind.

Come, Lord Jesus, break this mold
Breathe Your warmth into this cold
Draw me from the shadows deep
Shine Your light upon this creep
I want beauty, I want joy
Oh to be Your little boy
Start Your journey to my soul
Before the darkness takes its toll

Sleep
By Mike Bullock

When a church is asleep
And the slumber is deep
The devil will leave it alone
He is thrilled at the sight
Of a comatose plight
With a life that reminds him of stone.

But if it should wake
And the bones start to shake
As The Spirit arouses the saints
Then satan gets tough
And his demons get rough
As a landscape of darkness he paints.

They whisper in ears
And manifest fears
Your self worth is brought to it's knees
They love to destroy
The flowing of joy
And desecrate all that they see.

So stand firm in Christ
And stop being nice
The victory, is already won
The power of The Lord
Is your two edged sword
From you, they have to run.

Message
By Mike Bullock

I have a message for you
One that is sincere
If you want to grow in Me
Then I want you right here

Seeking out my presence
Giving Me your best
If you do not come to Me
Then you are like the rest

Who moan and groan about the fact
That they are standing still
Going through the motions
Searching for the latest thrill

Come back to My temple
You will find Me there
With the ones who seek My face
If only you would dare.
