Husband wants nothing for Christmas

Every year, Kevin and his wife, Karen, went out of their way to get the exact Christmas presents requested by their spouse.

This year was no exception. “What do you want for Christmas this year, Honey?” asked Kevin.

“I want a diamond necklace with intertwining hearts,” Karen said. “The hearts will be a symbol of our love. I would also appreciate one of those scrumptious homemade cherry pies of yours.”

Karen told Kevin that their daughter, Kenya, wanted some new school clothing. “Our little girl is growing up,” said Karen. “And she’s becoming more responsible in her requests for gifts.

“Kenya also needs a new study Bible,” Karen continued. “She’s totally studied the cover off the one she’s been using.

“That’s fine,” said Kevin. “And you’re sure all you want for Christmas is a necklace and the cherry pie?”

“I’m quite sure,” Karen smiled. “I do want us to mail a donation to the local battered women’s shelter. I feel so sorry for those ladies. Their husbands have no respect for them, and they get beaten and abused. I’m glad I’m married to you, because you treat me like a queen.”

“Well, you are my queen!” Kevin exclaimed. You’re the most precious jewel in the world to me. I know I’m not perfect, but I love you and I want to make you happy.”

“I love you, too, Honey,” said Karen. “And I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

“Now it’s my turn,” said Karen. “What do you want for Christmas?”

“Let’s see,” chuckled Kevin. “You know how much I love horses. I want you to buy me a new car that has the most available horsepower. Then to celebrate, on Christmas Day, I’ll take you for a ride out in the country. I’d also like a gasoline gift card with a year’s supply of gas.”

“Great!” exclaimed Karen. “Money is no object this year, so what else would you like?

“I’d like for you to go on a second honeymoon with me,” grinned Kevin. “I’d like to treat you to a trip across America to see all the big landmarks.”

“I’d love that,” beamed Karen. “But it sounds like that gift is more for me than you anyway.”

“Now I’ll tell you what I really want for Christmas,” said Kevin, who was grinning from ear to ear.

Karen gave Kevin a big hug. “What’s that, Dear,” she asked.

“Nothing,” Kevin whispered.

Karen was flabbergasted. “Nothing at all?” she asked. “But it’s Christmas. I must get something for you!”

“That’s just the point,” said Kevin. “I have the most wonderful wife in the world. You love me and want to spend the rest of your life with me. Those are the greatest gifts in the world. I have so many blessings, what else in the world could I ever want?”
